Salary in the range of £24,176-£27,158 inclusive (pro-rata)
The MRC Clinical Trials Unit undertakes national and international studies to assess the value of medical interventions in a variety of disease areas including cancer, HIV and other diseases.
We are seeking a Research Administrator to provide comprehensive research and administrative support for senior research staff leading and co-ordinating numerous studies relating to the treatment and outcome of individuals in the UK, Africa and elsewhere in the world.
You will be directly responsible to the Head of Research and Administration Support, but will also have close working relationships with senior scientific staff, clinicians and trial managers within the Hub as well as the Clinical Trials Unit and may be required to provide support to other senior members of staff, as required. The key tasks within this role are to provide administration assistance, including some diary management to Hub staff as needed and oversee teleconference and meeting requirements with multiple parties worldwide.
Other duties include general administration and assisting in the management of budgets to ensure that they are administered correctly and efficiently. To achieve this, they will liaise with key personnel within MRC Regional Centre London Finance to ensure compliance with financial requirements.
The successful applicant should preferably be educated to degree level standard, or equivalent, with a breadth and depth of experience of support work, in an administrative context, preferably in the health sector. Evidence of high quality organisational skills including meeting arrangements and response management are essential, as is evidence of an ability to prioritise, multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
