Summary:The postholder will carry out theoretical and experimental work in the area of combustion, pyrolysis and gasification of various fuels including biomass, waste & the associated heat and power network systems. The research programme includes experimental work on small scale Laboratory rigs as well as work on dedicated instrumentation installed on full scale industrial plants together with numerical modelling using FLUENT code. The successful applicant will be expected to have a PhD degree (or be working towards a PhD) or outstanding expertise in combustion science and technology and theoretical modelling of thermal processes. The post is fixed-term from 1 January 2010 until 31 March 2011.
